The Working Well Marketplace was a great success bringing together over 30 stalls, showcasing local health and wellbeing services for businesses.

The event was an incredible opportunity for organisations to connect and learn how to better support the health and wellbeing of their workforce all under one roof at Shakespeare North Playhouse.

The event officially opened by Rachel Peak, CEO of Knowsley Chamber & Head of Business Growth at Knowsley Council. Esther Hindley, Principal Public Health Programme Officer, launched the brand‑new Working Well promotional video. Councillor Christine Bannon, Cabinet Member for Health, spoke on the positive impact of Working Well’s health and wellbeing events. Richard Holford, Consultant in Public Health, who unveiled the new Smoke Free Toolkit for Knowsley employers which was followed by Nicola Cartwright, CHCP Smokefree Knowsley, who shared an overview of their smokefree services. Finally, John Devine, from TCD Energy showcased how charities, CICs and non-profits can take control of energy, water and waste contracts.

Attendees benefited from direct access to local organisations which offer support for employees facing mental or physical health related challenges, along with clear signposting to specialist services. Businesses also learned how they can use these providers to educate their workforce on healthy weight, positive lifestyle choices, to build healthier habits for both body and mind, which will help employers strengthen health and wellbeing across their organisation.

“I found the event very informative and it was planned very well. I shall look forward to attending future event.”

” Very good informative event that will make a big difference to how I manage staff health and wellbeing.”

The success of the Working Well Marketplace highlights the power of partnership between Knowsley Public Health, Knowsley Chamber, and our local business community to create healthier workplaces and a stronger Knowsley community. The Marketplace excellently showcased how all businesses, regardless of size or sector, can access resources and partnerships needed to support their workforce effectively.

The programme continues to grow, offering free support to employers that want to improve staff health and wellbeing. Businesses across Knowsley and the Liverpool City Region are encouraged to join the Working Well programme and attend upcoming events throughout 2026
