Warp-it – redistribute any unwanted items to support NHS Foundation Trust and others

At Liverpool University Hospitals they use a platform called Warp-it to redistribute any unwanted items. Welcome to Warp It- the resource redistribution network (warp-it.co.uk)

It is an online platform where staff can upload details of items that are in good quality but no longer required, other staff can browse the listings and claim items that they require. Using warp-it reduces our waste and also prevents unnecessary purchases.

Primarily, they use Warp-It to redistribute items from one department within the organisation to another. But when items are not claimed internally they are then listed externally and made available for partner organisations and local charities to come and collect for free. Typical items that are available are items of office furniture.

Hospitals, schools and local authorities pay a subscription to join Warp-it. But it is completely free for charities and community groups to join.

All the information you need is on the warp-it website here Charity benefits (warp-it.co.uk) including how to register, user guides and some demo videos.

The warp-it team have a dedicated support for charities. You can contact them on 0800 048 8755 or email charities@warp-it.co.uk

To date Liverpool University Hospitals have saved over £57,000, avoided 7,000kg of waste and donated £2500 worth of items to charity through warp-it.

However they know that they could do much more if they had more local connections.
